About Your New Job:

As a Project Engineer, your role is crucial in supporting the construction and project delivery team to ensure the successful implementation of significant projects. Working under the guidance of the Project Manager, you'll contribute to various aspects of project engineering, including feasibility studies, technical document reviews, and management of technical issues with external contractors and advisors. Specifically focusing on utility-scale PV solar and BESS projects, you'll oversee the project's technical solution to meet contract requirements and handle technical changes. Your responsibilities also involve managing specialist consultants, maintaining project information, providing technical advice to multi-disciplinary teams, and facilitating effective communication among project stakeholders. Additionally, you'll participate in tender preparation, and contractual negotiations, and engage with external parties like consultants, contractors, and government agencies. Keeping abreast of industry developments and regulations, you'll contribute to technical reports, site inspections, and the evaluation of new technologies, ensuring project success and compliance with standards.

What Skills You Need:

  • A minimum bachelor’s degree qualification in electrical, mechanical, or civil engineering. 
  • At least 3 years’ experience in large-scale PV solar farm and BESS projects.  
  • Experience in AutoCAD and PVSyst 
  • Knowledge of PV development and construction 
  • Knowledge and understanding of PV technology, grid connections, solar energy yield assessments, shading, ground conditions interpretation and foundation, MV/HV grid connection procedures, and PV plant installation procedures. 
  • Experience in solar project procurement, construction, and commissioning. 
  • Experience and knowledge of relevant Irish & UK design codes, regulations, and policies. 
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety legislation in Ireland and the UK. 
  • Proficiency in translating engineering issues into CAPEX and OPEX assumptions. 
  • High analytical skills with attention to detail and ability to make decisions in a fast-paced emerging market. 
  • Team-oriented with a positive attitude, determination, and flexibility, able to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
