Job description
I'm delighted to be working with an excellent Food company based in Meath on a Technical Manager / Quality Manager role. This is a permanent role with very strong salary package on offer (up to €70,000 base)
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure the delivery of product for sale within specification.
- Manage relevant quality standards, e.g. HACCP to ensure food safety, statutory & Company standards are maintained.
- Produce production/working specifications as required and identify and record any product and or service quality problems.
- Ensure suitable product traceability records are maintained throughout the supply chain and maintaining a product recall system.
- Ensure the necessary product testing is completed on time (including Micro / Swabs / allergen / speciation analysis etc.), maintaining suitable records & trends and communicating nonconformances appropriately and conducting root cause analysis reports
- Carry out supplier audits based on risk analysis.
- Co-ordinate internal audits including regular hygiene audits, glass audits and housekeeping checks.
- To ensure pest control visits take place and ensure agreed recommendations of the pest control company are implemented.
- Proof all deliveries of packaging onto site, to ensure they are to previously agreed
- Monitoring factory and staff hygiene standards on at least a daily basis and informing production/cleaning staff of any areas that require attention.
- Record all customer complaints & delegate to appropriate dept in a timely and effective manner and provide feedback to management.
- Support staff on queries regarding shelf life, quality, nutritional information and allergens
- Co- ordinate external audits/visits to ensure positive outcome e.g. Liaise with external bodies in relation to food safety issues e.g. EHO, Trading Standards etc
- Check all labelling for legal compliance including weight declaration, allergen/ nutritional information, contact details, product description etc.
- Co- Ordinate all Food Safety Training and Refresher training
- Oversee monthly Stock Take, ensuring accurate records are maintained
- Observe, act and immediately report any issues that may pose a threat to a safe working environment
Key Requirements:
- Comprehensive knowledge of HACCP and Good Manufacturing Procedures
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in food safety / quality
- A proficient user of computers, i.e.: Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Good communication skills, ability to work in a team and on own initiative
- Strong organisational skills giving attention to detail
