About Your New Job

  • You will be responsible for managing R&D activities within the business.
  • You will monitor programs and projects from initiation right through to delivery.
  • You will direct and control research or technology development activities.
  • You will be responsible for providing direction and guidance to the team, concentrating on development opportunities and effective change.

  • Build strategic partnerships to further departmental and organizational objectives.

 What Skills You Need

  • Minimum BSc or BEng degree (NFQ 8 Level).
  • Desirable to hold an MSc or MEngr degree (NFQ level 9)
  • Minimum of 10 years industrial experience with at least 5 years of supervisory/management experience of large teams
  • Experience in a large regulated environment required, biomedical industry preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams effectively, manage projects, and drive innovation within a research and development setting.
  • Experience in developing and implementing long-term R&D strategies aligned with business objectives.
  • Proven track record of managing R&D budgets, optimizing resource allocation, and delivering projects within budget constraints.
  • Experience working collaboratively with teams across various departments such as engineering, product development, marketing, and manufacturing.
  • Ability to analyze complex issues, identify solutions, and make data-driven decisions to drive R&D initiatives forward.
  • Experience in recruiting, mentoring, and developing a high-performing R&D team.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements relevant to the industry and experience navigating regulatory processes.
