About Your New Employer

This small medical device company is based in Galway and seeking a Manufacturing Manager to join the business. This is a brand new job due to recent news and expansion in the site so a great opportunity for someone to join at this exciting time.

We are seeking experienced Manufacturing Engineers who have moved into managerial positions within medical device manufacturing.  

About Your New Job as the Manufacturing Manager:

  • You will be responsible for monitoring manufacturing outputs, yields, scrap, etc. while running variance analysis of same to update and reconcile manufacturing KPI’s.
  • Responsible for ramping and transferring the introduction of new products and technologies into steady state manufacturing.
  • Prepares the Manufacturing Plan to meet monthly demand requirements across all product families.
  • Track implementation and completion of CAPA’s applicable to Manufacturing. Ensure adequate resources are available to conduct these activities. 
  • You will be responsible for leading and developing the production team.

What Skills You Need

  • Bachelor’s Degree in an applicable engineering or technical discipline (or equivalent experience) with 8+ years of progressive and extensive applicable work experience in medical device manufacturing.
  • An understanding of cost accounting systems and budgets, team building, problem solving, continuous improvement and cost reduction; ability to work cooperatively with other department heads to ensure the timely planning and delivery of quality products.
  • Knowledge and proven application of Lean Manufacturing techniques.
  • Experience with manufacturing technologies used in medical device industry.
  • Results driven with a proven ability to deliver targets and meet deadlines.
  • Creative thinker and problem solver with strong leadership skills In Planning, negotiating, and influencing.
  • Learning agility and a continuous improvement orientation.
  • Excellent communication skills, attention to detail.
  • Excellent ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize them.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Excellent IT skills including MS Office S/ware, Minitab, MRP software.
  • Decisive, displays sound judgement whilst thinking laterally and innovatively.
