Office Support Hiring Trends H2 2025

Temp Staff

The temporary job market has been relatively flat in the first half of 2025, with this trend expected to continue. Public sector temporary hiring has decreased slightly, while the private sector has seen a minor increase. There is a growing demand for temporary talent with the potential to become permanent, often due to headcount or budgetary constraints. However, there are fewer entry-level roles available. Temporary staffing remains a practical choice for organisations needing to hire adaptable staff quickly for both long and short-term contracts.

Wages

Admin and support roles have seen a modest 5% increase since the start of the year, some driven by the knock-on impact of the increased minimum wage and more by a demand for more niche skills. Employers are increasingly seeking digital savvy candidates. Salary inflation in more traditional sectors has been higher than tech this year.

Flexibility

While remote and hybrid assignments are in demand by candidates, we have seen a 28% increase on roles which are based Full-Time Onsite.  This has limited talent pools.
