Sigmar Recruitment, the recruitment agency headquartered in Dublin with established offices in Cork and Galway, today announced a renewed investment in its Athlone office, adding two senior recruitment leaders dedicated to serving employers and jobseekers across the Midlands.

Sigmar Recruitment has operated from Athlone since 2019. Over the past two years the office focused mainly on supporting the wider business from behind the scenes. That has now changed: with the appointment of Tina Cornally as Regional Manager and Peter Casey as Associate Director for Connacht and the Midlands, the office is shifting to a client-facing model, actively building relationships with local employers and expanding its candidate network across the region.

With the expanded team, the Athlone office now provides recruitment support across Westmeath, Longford, Offaly, Roscommon, Laois, Cavan and surrounding counties, covering permanent, temporary, contract, executive search recruitment along with payroll services. Initial focus areas include engineering and commercial/support roles, with the team's industry-agnostic approach meaning it can support businesses across a broad range of sectors. Between them, the Athlone team bring 24 years of combined recruitment experience in the Midlands region.

"The Midlands has a strong and growing business base, and until now we haven't had the dedicated team here to properly serve it. That changes now. Clients want to deal with people who know the area and know the local talent pool," said Tina Cornally, Regional Manager at Sigmar Recruitment.

"Our ambition here isn't small. We want to be the go-to recruitment partner for employers across the Midlands and Connacht, and this investment is the first step," said Peter Casey, Associate Director for Connacht and the Midlands at Sigmar Recruitment.

Based in Athlone town centre, the team works closely with local businesses and can arrange to meet clients at their premises with as little as 24 hours' notice. As part of its own growth, the Athlone office is also looking to add to its team, and welcomes enquiries from experienced recruitment professionals, or those interested in starting a career in recruitment.

The investment builds on Sigmar's established presence across the West and Midlands. The company's flagship regional event, Talent Summit Galway, returns to Dexcom Stadium on 8th October 2026, bringing together HR and business leaders to discuss the future of work, regional talent pipelines and workplace wellbeing — part of a wider Talent Summit series that also runs in Dublin and Cork.
