About Your New Job

  • As a Welder/Fabricator, you will set up, operate, and maintain manual welding equipment to produce precision sheet metal components, frameworks, and enclosures.
  • You will carry out high-quality MIG, TIG, and spot-welding on mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminium, ensuring clean, structurally sound joints with minimal distortion.
  • You’ll interpret technical engineering drawings and 3D CAD schematics, set up jigs and fixtures, and prepare metal parts to precise tolerances.
  • You will conduct quality checks, perform finishing and post-weld preparation, and ensure assemblies meet ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 3834-2 standards.
  • You’ll be responsible for routine preventative maintenance on welding equipment, and maintaining safety and cleanliness within your workspace.

What Skills You Need

  • Approved apprenticeship or formal trade certification in Welding/Metal Fabrication (desirable).
  • Minimum 2–3 years’ experience as a Welder/Fabricator in a high-precision manufacturing or heavy sheet metal production environment.
  • Proficient in MIG and TIG welding techniques and working with steel, stainless steel, and aluminium.
  • Able to read and interpret complex industrial engineering drawings and use standard fabrication machinery.
  • Strong focus on quality, attention to detail, and ability to meet strict tolerances.
