The Work
As Warehouse & Customer Service Manager, you will lead day-to-day activities across both warehouse operations and customer service, ensuring safe, efficient and customer-focused performance.
- Lead, coach and develop a team of five colleagues (three in Warehouse, two in Customer Service).
- Oversee all warehouse operations, including inventory management and stock accuracy.
- Ensure safe and compliant handling and storage of chemicals and hazardous materials.
- Manage customer service activities, including order processing, issue resolution and query management.
- Maintain and improve customer relationships, ensuring SLAs are met and service standards are upheld.
- Ensure full compliance with GMP, GDP, safety, regulatory and quality requirements.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across warehouse and customer service functions.
- Use ERP systems and KPI reporting to monitor performance and implement corrective actions where needed.
- Collaborate closely with Production, Planning, Quality and Finance to support business goals and smooth operations.
The Person
The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with a strong background in warehouse operations and customer service within a regulated, hazardous materials environment.
- Essential: Significant experience working with chemicals and hazardous materials in a manufacturing and/or warehouse setting.
- Proven track record managing both warehouse operations and customer service teams.
- Demonstrated people-leadership skills, including coaching, performance management and team development.
- Strong knowledge of inventory control, stock accuracy and warehouse processes.
- Experience working to GMP/GDP standards and within highly regulated environments.
- Understanding or awareness of dangerous goods regulations; exposure to ADR, IMDG, IATA or DGSA is an advantage.
- Experience using ERP systems and managing performance through KPIs.
- Excellent customer and stakeholder management skills with the ability to build strong internal and external relationships.
- Effective communication skills, a collaborative approach and the ability to work cross-functionally.
- Self-motivated, organised and committed to continuous improvement, safety and quality.
