Tax Manager / Senior – Leading Accountancy Practice (Meath)

About Your New Tax Job

As the Tax Manager / Tax Senior, you will:

  • Work directly with the Tax Partner, supporting and leading a growing team of experienced tax professionals.
  • Manage tax compliance activities for all tax heads (corporate tax, income tax, VAT, PAYE, capital gains tax, etc.) and oversee accurate and timely tax return preparation.
  • Provide high-level tax planning and tax advisory services, offering tailored solutions to corporate and personal tax clients.
  • Supervise, coach, and train junior tax staff and interns, handling technical queries and monitoring workflow across the tax department.
  • Review and prepare complex corporation tax, income tax, partnership tax, trust tax, estate tax, and international tax returns.
  • Conduct tax research and keep current with Irish tax laws, legislative updates, and compliance obligations.
  • Act as key point of contact for clients during tax audits, client meetings, and advisory projects; build strong client relationships.
  • Participate in tax department and firm-wide strategic projects; represent the company at tax recruitment fairs and industry networking events.
  • Manage WIP (Work-In-Progress), billing, and contribute to business development and referral activities within the tax sector.

What Skills You Need as a Tax Professional

  • Fully qualified tax advisor (CTA, AITI, or equivalent) or preparing for final exams.
  • At least 2 years’ relevant tax experience in a tax practice or professional services firm.
  • In-depth understanding of Irish tax legislation, tax compliance requirements, and the SME market.
  • Excellent skills in tax consulting, tax return review, and managing multiple client assignments simultaneously.
  • Strong communication skills – both verbal and written – with a proven ability to explain complex tax concepts to clients and colleagues.
  • Demonstrated leadership in supervising and developing tax team members.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work efficiently under deadlines.
