About Your New Job – Tax Director Position

As our new Tax Director in Athlone, you will:

  • Lead and develop strong relationships with a broad portfolio of clients including SMEs, multinational companies, and high-net-worth individuals.
  • Deliver expert tax advice on corporate restructures, mergers and acquisitions, succession planning, tax compliance, tax planning, and cross-border taxation.
  • Drive business development activities to expand the firm’s client base, identify new tax advisory opportunities, and contribute to the strategic direction of the tax department.
  • Manage, mentor, and empower a dedicated team of tax professionals, ensuring high performance and professional growth.
  • Customize your role to align with your career aspirations—whether that’s gaining broad consultancy experience, focusing on compliance, or specialising in niche tax sectors.

What Skills You Need – Key Tax Director Requirements

  • Qualified member of the Irish Taxation Institute (CTA) is essential.
  • Minimum 3 years’ post-qualification experience in a senior tax management or director role in practice or industry.
  • Proven expertise in all major tax heads, Irish tax compliance, and advisory assignments.
  • Excellent leadership, management, and communication skills; experience training and developing tax teams.
  • Strong commercial acumen and ability to drive tax business development and client relationship growth.
