There are 110+ employees in the Galway site, this is a Galway focused role and you will be reporting into a Manager in France.

The Work

As a Supply Chain & Material Planner, you will own the planning and purchasing of devices, and components, while managing the operational supply chain from procurement through to logistics. You will play a key role in ensuring materials flow efficiently from order to release, aligned with warehouse capacity and inventory targets.

  • Manage the full procurement lifecycle, including creating suppliers and part numbers, raising and placing purchase orders, and coordinating payment in partnership with technical teams, supply chain managers, global planners, category managers, and finance.
  • Coordinate and manage suppliers in collaboration with the category manager, including implementing supplier agreements and contracts where required.
  • Act as a key interface between suppliers and internal stakeholders to identify constraints, resolve issues, and maintain strong relationships.
  • Plan material delivery schedules with suppliers in alignment with the global planner to meet sales and production requirements.
  • Maintain raw material and component inventory levels within agreed targets, minimizing excess, obsolete, and expired stock.
  • Partner with the category manager to drive supplier performance improvements, focusing on quality and on-time delivery.
  • Serve as the main contact for finance to proactively resolve invoice queries and ensure smooth financial processes.
  • Act as the supply chain lead for designated projects, building supply chain project plans, global cost models, and project cashflow scenarios to support decision-making.
  • Manage procurement of raw materials with vendors and plan production with manufacturers to ensure on-time, in-full delivery.
  • Challenge material and production costs and lead times, including raw materials, shipping, and inventory, to optimize efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Coordinate shipping of goods in collaboration with global and local freight managers.
  • Track actual supply, production, and shipments against plan and take corrective actions where needed.
  • Conduct monthly inventory reviews using ERP reports and monitor slow-moving and obsolete items to stay within defined targets.
  • Identify issues and opportunities for improvement within supply chain processes and tools.
  • Lead or contribute to transformation and continuous improvement projects with cross-functional teams.

The Person

You are a proactive, detail-oriented supply chain professional who enjoys working cross-functionally and driving operational excellence. You are comfortable managing multiple priorities and engaging with stakeholders at different levels to keep materials and information flowing smoothly.

  • Education: Degree in Procurement, Business, Purchasing, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline.
  • Experience: 3–5 years of experience in a supply chain, material planning, or similar role.
  • Technical skills: Strong understanding of procurement processes, supplier management, inventory control, and ERP systems.
  • Analytical skills: Able to interpret data, track performance versus plan, and identify cost, lead time, and process optimization opportunities.
  • Collaboration: Skilled at working with finance, legal, project managers, global supply chain, engineering, and operations to achieve shared goals.
  • Communication: Clear, professional communicator who can build trust with internal and external partners.
  • Mindset: Continuous improvement orientated, comfortable challenging the status quo and leading or supporting transformation initiatives.
