Job Summary
Our client is seeking a Structural Design Engineer to join their team in Oranmore, Co. Galway. This is a strong opportunity for a Structural Engineer with experience in reinforced concrete or precast design to take responsibility for a range of structural projects from initial design through to production.
The role will involve preparing structural calculations for projects including multi-storey buildings and car parks, as well as designing high-quality precast concrete products to meet project specifications. You will also work closely with Design Technicians, checking 3D models, General Arrangement drawings and shop drawings, while providing technical guidance across the wider business.
You will liaise with customers, external design teams and contractors to ensure projects are delivered on time and to a high standard, while also providing technical support to QS, H&S, manufacturing and site erection teams. Responsibilities
- Oversee a variety of structural engineering projects from initial design through to production.
- Prepare structural calculations for a range of projects, including multi-storey buildings and car parks.
- Design precast concrete products in line with project specifications and relevant standards.
- Mentor and support Design Technicians across all aspects of structural design.
- Review and check 3D models, General Arrangement drawings and shop drawings.
- Liaise with customers, external design teams and contractors throughout the project lifecycle.
- Provide technical guidance and support to the QS, H&S, manufacturing and site erection teams.
- Manage and prioritise your workload to ensure projects are delivered within agreed deadlines.
- Work collaboratively with internal teams while also taking ownership of your own projects and responsibilities.
Requirements
- 3+ years’ experience in a Structural Design Engineering role.
- Experience working with precast and/or reinforced concrete.
- Third-level degree in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
- Strong technical and structural design skills.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to manage and prioritise a busy workload.
- Strong focus on deadlines and project delivery.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and on your own initiative.
