Sourcing and Purchasing Coordinator

East Galway - On-site, Monday to Friday.

  • This is a busy, sociable role where you will work in an established, experienced procurement team and closely with all internal departments and managers, helping them with their supplies needs.

About Your New Job

As the Sourcing and Purchasing Coordinator, you will:

  • Collaborate with internal departments to procure and review all material, consumable, and service requirements.
  • Source new suppliers.
  • Place orders with suppliers, manage purchase orders, and expedite orders to meet customer needs.
  • Deliver daily, weekly, and monthly reporting, with key metrics and analysis to identify gaps and solutions.
  • Manage suppliers to secure best cost, delivery, and service quality.
  • Monitor and control stock levels, minimising excess and obsolete materials, implementing best practices like Kanban and consignment programs.
  • Oversee cycle count and annual stock take processes, review and resolve invoice discrepancies, and support warehouse operations as needed.

Hours:

  • Monday–Thursday: 8.00am–4.00pm
  • Friday: 8.00am–3.30pm
  • 37 hours per week

What Skills You Need

  • Experience in a Procurement/Buying/Purchasing environment. You may be in a Warehouse environment for example and want to step into a Procurement role.
  • Diploma/Cert in purchasing or materials management; APICS qualified or working towards it would be advantageous but this is not essential.
  • Knowledge of or genuine interest in procurement, inventory, and supplier management.
  • Excellent multitasking skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Advanced MS Office skills (Excel, Word, Outlook); experience with MRP/ERP systems (SAP, Oracle preferred).
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills. This job is a very collaborative role and the successful candidate will be working closely with a variety of internal departments and Managers.

  • Competitive salary, dependent on level of Procurement experience, 30-40k.
