About Your New Job
As the Shop Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring customers are well taken care of and managing a team of 25 sales assistants. This customer-facing role requires someone who loves dealing with the general public, including a lot of agri/locals. You will be responsible for overseeing 7 departments within the shop and ensuring smooth operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Customer Service
- Ensure customers are taken care of and receive excellent service.
- Handle customer inquiries and complaints effectively.
- Team Management
- Manage and support a team of 25 sales assistants.
- Ensure staff are well looked after and motivated.
- Operational Management
- Oversee the daily operations of the shop.
- Work closely with the inventory manager and on-site sales person.
- Sales and Inventory
- Manage sales targets and inventory levels.
- Deal with faults and issues, ideally from an electronics retail background (e.g., Currys).
Working Hours:
- Monday to Saturday, 9 AM to 6 PM.
- Open 5 Sundays a year (4 hours on Sunday).
- Work Saturdays with a day off in lieu, as Saturday is the busiest day.
What Skills You Need
- Experience in a customer-facing role, ideally from an electronics retail background.
- Strong understanding of provincial towns and well-rooted in the region.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Strong collaboration skills to work with inventory manager and on-site sales person.
- Ability to handle customer inquiries and complaints effectively.
