About Your New Job

As a Senior Structural Engineer/Associate Designate, you will:

  • Oversee all aspects of project delivery—from planning, resource management, and technical leadership to effective mentoring and employee development.
  • Lead and promote design excellence while ensuring compliance with quality management and health & safety standards.
  • Play a significant role in client relationship management, focusing on the retention of existing business and the generation of new opportunities.
  • Work closely with Directors to deliver on ambitious business and growth plans for the Dublin office, including developing regional marketing strategies and identifying new project leads.
  • Drive fee proposals, client liaison, cost control, and contract management; manage project invoicing and fee negotiations.
  • Independently run multiple projects at various stages and values, delivering profitable engineering solutions and ensuring high levels of client satisfaction.

What Skills You Need

  • Level 8/9 Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • Chartered status and preferably a member of the Institution of Structural Engineers.
  • Minimum 12 years’ postgraduate experience, ideally in a consulting environment; experience on architect-led projects is a distinct advantage.
  • Strong technical, communication, and management skills.
  • Commercial awareness with a track record in budget management and cost control.
  • Ability to prepare high-quality project reports; capable of chairing meetings and preparing minutes.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development (CPD).
