About Your New Employer

We are hiring for a permanent Senior Manufacturing Engineer to join a small medical device company in Galway. This is a fully onsite position. 

About Your New Job

As a Senior Manufacturing Engineer, you will:

  • Lead and manage manufacturing projects of varying complexity, working closely with internal teams to ensure timely delivery and adherence to budgets.
  • Optimise production workflows and systems to achieve consistent product quality and maximize cost-efficiency across both current and upcoming product lines.
  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives, overseeing implementation and tracking outcomes related to quality, productivity, and assembly enhancements.
  • Serve as the driving force behind process improvement programs such as Lean/Six Sigma, cost-saving strategies, and operational excellence events including 5S and Kaizen.

What Skills You Need

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Master’s Degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of engineering experience in medical device industry - manufacturing engineering, process development, process etc
  • Proven skills in:
    • Process improvement and root cause analysis
    • Scrap and COGs reduction
    • Machine design and design for manufacturability
    • Microfluidics manufacturing, design, and application experience
    • Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting
    • Project leadership in manufacturing environments
  • Knowledge of Six Sigma/Lean methods required; Green Belt or Black Belt certification preferred.
