Senior Environmental Engineer

Job Summary

Join one of Ireland’s leading indigenous consultancies specialising in sustainable infrastructure, circular economy, environment, energy and renewables.

As a Senior Environmental Engineer, you will join the Circular Economy and Environment team, working across a diverse portfolio of waste and resource management projects for public and private sector clients. The role will involve supporting the planning and delivery of civil and environmental engineering projects, working closely with experienced engineers, technicians, clients and contractors.

The position is suited to an experienced engineer with 8+ years’ experience who is looking to take on greater technical and project responsibility, with a clear pathway for progression towards Principal Engineer.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the planning and management of design work and CAD documentation.
  • Work closely with Project Engineers and Engineering Technicians to deliver project requirements.
  • Coordinate project activities, deliverables and technical information across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Attend site meetings with clients, contractors and other project professionals.
  • Liaise with external stakeholders, clients and sub-contractors throughout project delivery.
  • Support project management and ensure projects are delivered efficiently.
  • Ensure compliance with company Quality Assurance and Management Systems.
  • Maintain compliance with relevant health, safety and regulatory requirements.
  • Contribute to the successful delivery of waste, environmental and circular economy projects.

Requirements

  • Degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 8 years’ post-graduate professional experience.
  • Proven project management experience.
  • Strong communication, organisational and analytical skills.
  • Experience liaising with clients, external stakeholders and sub-contractors.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Flexible, collaborative and proactive approach.
  • Full, clean driving licence.
  • Experience in anaerobic digestion facilities, solid waste management facilities or public realm projects is desirable.
