Senior Accounting Associate – Practice, Audit & Tax

About the Role

An established and growing accountancy practice is seeking a Senior Accounting Associate to join its professional and supportive team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Qualified Accountant with experience in an Irish or UK practice environment. You will work with a varied portfolio of SME and owner-managed business clients, providing services across accounts preparation, audit, taxation and business advisory.

Key Responsibilities

As Senior Accounting Associate, you will:

  • Prepare annual and statutory financial statements under Irish GAAP and FRS 102.
  • Support audit assignments from planning through to completion.
  • Prepare management accounts, cash-flow forecasts and financial reports.
  • Complete corporation tax computations and draft CT1 returns.
  • Prepare personal tax returns for directors and business owners.
  • Review bookkeeping records, ledgers and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Manage relationships with a portfolio of SME and owner-managed business clients.
  • Provide practical advice on cash flow, budgeting, financial controls and business structures.
  • Coordinate multiple client assignments and meet important reporting deadlines.
  • Review work completed by trainees and junior accountants.
  • Support process improvements and identify additional advisory opportunities.

Requirements

The successful candidate will have:

  • A professional qualification as a Chartered Accountant or Chartered Certified Accountant (pq persons will also be considered).
  • Relevant post-qualification experience in an Irish or UK accountancy practice.
  • Strong knowledge of Irish GAAP, FRS 102 and Companies Act requirements.
  • Experience working with both audit and non-audit clients.
  • Excellent client relationship, communication and organisational skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing deadlines.
  • A proactive, commercially focused and collaborative approach.
  • Good working knowledge of accounting and practice management software.

Experience in SME advisory, tax planning, file review or team supervision would be an advantage.
