The Work
As a Senior Accountant (Senior Associate – Accounting), you will play a key role in delivering outstanding service to a broad portfolio of SME clients while contributing to the growth and development of the practice.
- Prepare year-end financial statements in accordance with Irish GAAP and FRS 102 Section 1A.
- Work across both audit and audit-exempt client assignments, ensuring compliance and quality.
- Prepare and review management accounts, cash-flow statements, and supporting financial analysis.
- Prepare corporation tax computations and assist with CT1 returns for a range of clients.
- Manage deadlines and workload across a varied portfolio of SME clients.
- Act as a key client contact, building an understanding of their businesses and advisory requirements.
- Support clients with tax planning, financial controls, budgeting, and cash-flow management.
- Review bookkeeping files, identifying necessary accounting adjustments or unusual variances.
- Provide guidance, mentoring, and day-to-day support to junior team members.
The Person
The ideal candidate is an experienced practice professional who enjoys working closely with clients, managing multiple assignments, and contributing to the development of the wider team.
- Qualified Chartered Accountant or Chartered Certified Accountant.
- Strong post-qualification experience within an Irish or UK accountancy practice environment.
- In-depth knowledge of Irish GAAP, including FRS 102 Section 1A.
- Experience working with both audit and audit-exempt clients.
- Proven client-facing experience with the ability to build trusted relationships.
- Ability to manage multiple client assignments and deadlines effectively.
- Strong communication, organisational, and technical accounting skills.
- Experience reviewing junior staff or managing a small team is an advantage.
