SENIOR ACCOUNTANT – ROSCOMMON

About Your New Employer

An established Chartered Accountancy practice in Roscommon is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its team. This is a client-facing position suited to a practice accountant with strong accounts preparation and Irish tax experience who wants to take ownership of a varied portfolio of clients. The role is full-time and office-based, Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm.

About Your New Job

As Senior Accountant, you will:

• Manage direct relationships with clients, acting as a key point of contact for accounting and tax matters.
• Prepare and complete annual accounts for a portfolio of clients.
• Manage associated tax assignments and ensure deadlines and compliance requirements are met.
• Prepare and file personal income tax returns.
• Prepare and file corporation tax returns.
• Prepare and file VAT returns in line with Irish tax requirements.
• Manage tax compliance across VAT, PAYE and RCT.
• Ensure client accounts and tax assignments are completed accurately and within agreed deadlines.
• Apply strong technical accounting and tax knowledge when dealing with client queries.
• Work collaboratively with the wider practice team while independently managing your own workload.

What You Need

• Qualified Accountant with at least 3 years’ experience in an accountancy practice – practice experience is essential.
• Strong accounts preparation experience.
• Strong knowledge of Irish personal and corporation tax.
• Good working knowledge of VAT, PAYE and RCT.
• Experience dealing directly with clients in a practice environment.
• Strong tax compliance experience; candidates with a tax consultancy background combined with relevant accounting experience are also of interest.
• Strong analytical and organisational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple client deadlines effectively.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills.
