Store Manager - Retail

East Galway, Galway, Ireland

This role is based on-site with a popular Irish owned retailer. 

We are seeking an experienced Store Manager to lead a busy retail operation in the household goods and building supplies sector. You will be responsible for all aspects of store performance, team leadership, and delivering an outstanding customer experience.

There are approximately 40 employees in the retail store, including 25-27 Sales Assistants. 

Working hours are 9am-6pm Monday to Saturday and open 5 Sundays a year (would only be open for 4 hourrs on the Sunday). This Store Manager will ideally work Saturdays with a day off in lieu.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, motivate, and develop the store team to achieve sales and service targets
  • Ensure a welcoming, well-organised, and professional store environment
  • Drive commercial performance through effective merchandising, stock management, and promotional activity
  • Handle escalated customer issues and ensure high service standards
  • Collaborate with other business functions to optimise store operations

What We’re Looking For:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a retail management
  • Strong leadership and people management skills
  • Excellent customer service and problem-solving abilities
  • Commercial awareness and experience managing store KPIs
  • Organised, decisive, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
