About Your New Job
You will work on the design and development of engineering projects, gaining involvement in both technical design and the wider project delivery process. Working alongside experienced engineers, you will have the opportunity to take on increasing responsibility as your experience develops.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Developing civil engineering designs for energy and utility projects, from initial concepts through to completion.
- Working on new installations and modifications to existing gas and water infrastructure.
- Contributing to the design of renewable energy and power generation projects, including solar, hydro and combined heat and power systems.
- Preparing engineering drawings, calculations, specifications and supporting technical documentation.
- Assisting with planning applications, fire safety certificates, Disability Access Certificates and other statutory requirements.
- Ensuring designs comply with relevant building regulations and applicable technical standards.
- Coordinating with other engineering disciplines to develop practical, integrated design solutions.
- Supporting project delivery while developing your technical, communication and project management skills.
What Skills You Need
- An honours bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a higher qualification.
- At least five years of relevant post-graduate design experience.
- A solid foundation in civil engineering design and technical documentation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general computer applications.
- A good academic record.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
- The ability to manage your own workload while contributing effectively to a team.
- A full clean driving licence and access to transport.
Experience in energy, utilities, water, gas networks, renewables or industrial infrastructure would be beneficial. Candidates should have a genuine interest in developing their technical expertise and taking on greater responsibility over time.
