Your New Role
As Project Engineer, you will act as the technical link between clients, Project Managers, the design team and the manufacturing floor. You will be responsible for translating complex engineering designs into fully manufactured mechanical plant rooms while ensuring all technical requirements, quality standards and project deadlines are met.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Acting as the primary technical point of contact for clients throughout the engineering and manufacturing stages.
- Translating client requirements into clear engineering and manufacturing information.
- Leading technical review meetings to secure approval of drawings, schematics and proposed systems.
- Working closely with Project Managers to align technical deliverables with project programmes and budgets.
- Reviewing 3D models, P&IDs, mechanical drawings and structural layouts for accuracy and manufacturability.
- Supporting the workshop team and resolving technical issues during plant-room assembly.
- Managing RFIs, technical queries, submittals and design changes.
- Compiling O&M manuals, handover documentation and quality compliance certificates.
- Ensuring all systems comply with client specifications, safety requirements and relevant industry standards.
What You'll Need to Succeed
To succeed in this position, you will need:
- A degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or a related discipline.
- At least three years’ experience within a manufacturing, construction or engineering environment.
- Previous experience working with mechanical plant rooms, packaged plant, HVAC systems or industrial piping.
- The ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, P&IDs and electrical schematics.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Revit or similar design software.
- Strong technical problem-solving and project coordination skills.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical information clearly to clients and non-technical stakeholders.
- A practical understanding of how mechanical systems are designed, manufactured and assembled.
- The ability to manage multiple technical priorities within a fast-paced project environment.
