Production Planner – Longford

The Work

As a Production Planner, you will play a key role in ensuring that manufacturing schedules are realistic, efficient and aligned with customer delivery expectations.

  • Develop and maintain daily and weekly production schedules to meet customer demand.
  • Prioritise work orders based on customer requirements, promised delivery dates and available capacity.
  • Monitor machine loading and labour capacity to optimise throughput and minimise bottlenecks.
  • Coordinate with Purchasing to ensure materials are available to support planned production.
  • Maintain accurate production status, delivery forecasts and schedule data within ERP/MRP systems.
  • Track work orders through the manufacturing process and flag potential scheduling or delivery risks.
  • Collaborate closely with Production, Quality, Engineering and Purchasing to maintain smooth workflow.
  • Review customer delivery dates and proactively manage potential delays or constraints.
  • Support improvements in on-time delivery, lead times, work-in-progress levels and schedule adherence.
  • Contribute to Lean and continuous improvement initiatives within production planning and operations.

The Person

The ideal candidate is an organised, analytical planner who enjoys working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and partnering with cross-functional teams.

  • 2–3 years of experience in production planning, scheduling or coordination in a manufacturing setting.
  • Solid understanding of manufacturing processes, workflows and capacity planning.
  • Background in aerospace, medical device, automotive or other high-precision manufacturing environments.
  • Hands-on experience using ERP/MRP systems for planning and tracking production.
  • Strong Excel skills for data analysis, reporting and schedule management.
  • Excellent organisational, communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Comfortable managing changing priorities, tight deadlines and dynamic production requirements.
  • Knowledge of Lean manufacturing and/or a technical or engineering qualification is advantageous.
