Procurement Specialist

East Galway - On-site, Monday to Friday.

About Your New Job

As the Procurement Specialist, you will:

  • Collaborate with hospital departments to procure and review all material, consumable, and service requirements.
  • Place orders with suppliers, manage purchase orders, and expedite orders to meet customer needs.
  • Deliver daily, weekly, and monthly reporting, with key metrics and analysis to identify gaps and solutions.
  • Manage suppliers to secure best cost, delivery, and service quality.
  • Monitor and control stock levels, minimising excess and obsolete materials, implementing best practices like Kanban and consignment programs.
  • Oversee cycle count and annual stock take processes, review and resolve invoice discrepancies, and support warehouse operations as needed.

Hours:

  • Monday–Thursday: 8.00am–4.00pm
  • Friday: 8.00am–3.30pm
  • 37 hours per week

What Skills You Need

  • 1+ years’ work experience in a Procurement/Buying/Purchasing environment.
  • Diploma/Cert in purchasing or materials management; APICS qualified or working towards it would be advantageous but essential.
  • Knowledge of procurement, inventory, and supplier management.
  • Excellent multitasking skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Advanced MS Office skills (Excel, Word, Outlook); experience with MRP/ERP systems (SAP, Oracle preferred).
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills. This job is a very collaborative role and the successful candidate will be working closely with a variety of internal departments and Managers.
  • Experience in hospital or medical device manufacturing is an advantage but not essential.

  • Competitive salary, dependent on level of Procurement experience, eg 35-45k
