Our client is a leading Data Centre Construction company delivering turnkey solutions to clients across Europe, with headquarters in Dublin. As an engineering-focused organisation, they have grown to become one of the most trusted and well-established companies within the sector.
The company is currently delivering multiple large-scale turnkey data centre projects across Europe, representing over 500 MW of IT load in delivery. Due to continued project growth, they are seeking to appoint an experienced Electrical Lead to join their team, with the role based on-site in Helsinki, Finland.
About Your New Job
As Mechanical Package Manager (Data Centres), you will take responsibility for managing the full mechanical systems package across large-scale mission-critical data centre construction projects. This role will be based on-site in Portugal, overseeing the delivery of mechanical works from design coordination and procurement through installation, testing, and commissioning.
Working closely with the Project Manager, subcontractors, and site teams, you will coordinate construction activities and ensure all mechanical works are delivered safely, on schedule, and to the highest quality standards. You will manage project resources, track progress against the programme, and ensure all project documentation and reporting are maintained throughout the project lifecycle.
You will also coordinate subcontractor activities, manage the project snagging system, monitor material deliveries, and support project close-out activities including documentation, punch lists, and final project handover.
What Skills You Need
As the Mechanical Package Manager you will:
- Manage the full mechanical systems package from design coordination through installation, testing, and commissioning.
- Oversee subcontractor activities and ensure progress aligns with the project schedule.
- Monitor project resources, including labour, materials, plant, and equipment associated with the mechanical package.
- Maintain project documentation including snagging systems, progress reports, and project records.
- Coordinate with commercial teams to manage variations and cost impacts throughout the project lifecycle.
What You Need to Have
- Trade or degree qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Proven experience managing mechanical packages on large-scale construction projects.
- Experience delivering projects such as data centres, pharmaceutical facilities, or industrial developments.
- Experience coordinating subcontractors and managing project schedules.
