About Your New Job

As a Contracting Process Technician, you will be a core member of the production environment, tackling hands-on technical challenges directly on the manufacturing floor. Your role will focus on troubleshooting, process improvement, and supporting automation, with opportunities to broaden your exposure to advanced manufacturing technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Troubleshoot and resolve yield, downtime, equipment, and process-related issues, implementing corrective and preventative actions to eliminate failures.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineers to develop, standardise, and improve existing production methods and procedures.
• Perform electronic and mechanical hardware troubleshooting, interfacing with PLCs, pneumatics, and automation systems.
• Conduct and document preventative maintenance, ensuring equipment reliability for assigned processes/areas.
• Analyse process trends, manage yield, and identify improvement opportunities through effective data analysis.
• Present findings and improvement proposals confidently to the wider team.
• Assist in technical improvements, method development, part sourcing, and documentation.
• Liaise with internal teams and external vendors as needed.

Shift Patterns:

• Role 1: Days, 7am – 3pm
• Role 2: Weekend nights, 11pm – 11am, Friday to Monday

What Skills You Need as a Process Technician

• HETAC Level 6 qualification (or higher) in a relevant technical area (120 credits).
• Hands-on experience in manufacturing (minimum 2 years); familiarity with processes such as braiding, laser, heat treatment, and coating highly desirable.
• Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills—mechanical and electrical.
• Experience in a GMP-regulated environment would be an advantage.
• Proficient in working with PLCs, pneumatics, automation systems, and electrical safety.
• Ability to confidently present data and technical findings.
• Good decision-making skills, initiative, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
• Passion for technology.
