Maintenance Technician – Days | Pharma | Athlone

Excellent early-career opportunity for a Maintenance Technician looking to develop their technical skills within a regulated pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.

Join a well-established company in Athlone operating within a busy, highly regulated manufacturing environment. You will become part of a maintenance team of five, giving you the opportunity to work alongside experienced technicians while developing your hands-on maintenance and troubleshooting skills.

About Your New Job

  • Carry out fault-finding, troubleshooting and repairs on mechanical, electrical, utility and production equipment.
  • Complete planned and preventative maintenance to support equipment uptime and reliability.
  • Develop your experience across mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
  • Work alongside experienced maintenance colleagues, Operations and external contractors to resolve equipment issues.
  • Support new equipment installations and commissioning activities.
  • Complete maintenance activities in line with GMP, Health & Safety and site procedures, including LOTO, permits and PPE.
  • Get involved in continuous improvement initiatives aimed at improving equipment performance and reducing downtime.

What Skills You Need

  • A relevant Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation or Engineering qualification, or similar technical training.
  • Some hands-on maintenance, equipment troubleshooting or technical experience, which may have been gained through employment, apprenticeship or a manufacturing environment.
  • A practical, hands-on approach with an interest in developing your maintenance and fault-finding skills.
  • Exposure to automated equipment, PLC-controlled machinery, pneumatics or hydraulics would be an advantage.
  • Experience within pharma, medical device, food or regulated manufacturing is advantageous but not essential.
  • A willingness to learn and develop as part of an experienced maintenance team.
