About Your New Job

As the Health & Safety Officer, you will:

  • Support the Health & Safety Manager in implementing and maintaining safe working practices on site in line with Irish legislation and company procedures.
  • Monitor safety standards in accordance with the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (Construction) Regulations 2013.
  • Conduct regular, randomly timed site inspections and report findings to project teams and subcontractors, ensuring prompt remedial action.
  • Deliver induction training and toolbox talks to all staff and contractors, promoting a positive safety culture.
  • Assist with safety audits, statutory inspections, and the preparation of method statements and risk assessments.
  • Liaise with project teams, subcontractors, and the EHS department to ensure risks are identified, controlled, and reported.
  • Recognise and commend employees who contribute to risk reduction and safety improvements on site.

What Skills You Need

  • Electrical trade background with a minimum of 6 years’ experience on large-scale projects, ideally in pharmaceutical, medical device, or industrial/commercial sectors.
  • In-depth knowledge of Irish health, safety, and environmental legislation.
  • Strong understanding of ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 standards, with experience in ISO-certified management systems.
  • Level 8 qualification in Health and Safety.
  • Extensive experience in Project HSE Management and delivering internal Health & Safety management courses.
  • Highly organised, proactive, and able to manage competing priorities across multiple sites.
  • Ability to conduct accident/incident investigations and advise on HSE issues daily.
