Health & Safety Advisor – Construction
Location: County Louth, Ireland (supporting multiple residential and commercial sites)

Reports To: Health & Safety Manager / Site Manager
Role Overview:
We are seeking a proactive and experienced Health & Safety Advisor to support a variety of residential and commercial construction projects across County Louth and surrounding areas. The successful candidate will ensure compliance with all statutory health and safety legislation, company policies, and best practices on site, promoting a culture of safety across all projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide on-site health and safety support across multiple residential and commercial construction projects.
Conduct risk assessments, method statements, and safety audits to ensure compliance with Irish health and safety legislation (e.g., Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005).
Carry out regular site inspections, identify hazards, and implement corrective actions.
Develop, review, and update health and safety policies and procedures.
Monitor and enforce the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe working practices.
Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses, preparing detailed reports and recommendations for prevention.
Deliver health and safety inductions, toolbox talks, and training sessions for site staff and contractors.
Maintain accurate records of inspections, incidents, and compliance documentation.
Liaise with project managers, contractors, and regulatory authorities as required.
Promote a proactive health and safety culture across all projects.
Requirements:
Minimum of 1–2 years’ experience as a Health & Safety Advisor in the construction sector.
Full, clean driving licence is essential due to travel between sites.
Relevant health and safety qualification (e.g., NEBOSH Diploma, IOSH Managing Safely, or equivalent).
Strong knowledge of Irish construction health and safety legislation and best practices.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently, manage multiple sites, and prioritize tasks effectively.
Desirable:
Experience across both residential and commercial construction projects.
First aid certification.
Experience conducting safety audits and site inspections for large-scale projects.
