Health & Safety Advisor

Leinster Region | €65,000 + Benefits

Our client is a leading civil engineering company, delivering high-quality projects across Ireland. With their Head Office based in Co. Meath, they are now seeking to appoint an experienced Health & Safety Advisor to join the business in a newly created role supporting projects throughout the Leinster region.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Health & Safety professional who is comfortable working independently and enjoys a varied, site-based role. Due to the nature of the position, flexibility around location and travel across Leinster is essential.

The Role

As Health & Safety Advisor, you will work across multiple sites, supporting project teams in maintaining and improving high standards of health, safety and compliance.

You will be responsible for:

  • Providing practical Health & Safety advice and support to site and project teams.
  • Carrying out site inspections, audits and risk assessments.
  • Monitoring compliance with relevant Health & Safety legislation and company policies.
  • Identifying potential risks and working proactively with site teams to implement effective controls.
  • Investigating incidents and near misses and assisting with corrective actions.
  • Delivering Health & Safety briefings, toolbox talks and training where required.
  • Maintaining accurate Health & Safety documentation and reporting.
  • Building strong working relationships with site management, employees and subcontractors.
  • Operating independently across a number of projects while contributing to the wider Health & Safety function.

The Person

We are looking for someone with 2–4 years' relevant Health & Safety experience, ideally gained within a civil engineering or main contractor environment.

You will have:

  • 2–4 years' experience in a Health & Safety role.
  • Previous experience working within civil engineering or for a main contractor.
  • The confidence and experience to operate independently on site.
  • A practical, proactive and solutions-focused approach to Health & Safety.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with teams at all levels.
  • A good understanding of Health & Safety legislation and best practice within the construction industry.
  • Flexibility to travel between sites across the Leinster region.
  • A full Irish driving licence.
  • A valid work permit and legal entitlement to work in Ireland.
