Our client is a leading civil engineering company, delivering high-quality projects across Ireland. With their Head Office based in Co. Meath, they are now seeking to appoint an experienced Health & Safety Advisor to join the business in a newly created role supporting projects throughout the Leinster region.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Health & Safety professional who is comfortable working independently and enjoys a varied, site-based role. Due to the nature of the position, flexibility around location and travel across Leinster is essential.
The Role
As Health & Safety Advisor, you will work across multiple sites, supporting project teams in maintaining and improving high standards of health, safety and compliance.
You will be responsible for:
- Providing practical Health & Safety advice and support to site and project teams.
- Carrying out site inspections, audits and risk assessments.
- Monitoring compliance with relevant Health & Safety legislation and company policies.
- Identifying potential risks and working proactively with site teams to implement effective controls.
- Investigating incidents and near misses and assisting with corrective actions.
- Delivering Health & Safety briefings, toolbox talks and training where required.
- Maintaining accurate Health & Safety documentation and reporting.
- Building strong working relationships with site management, employees and subcontractors.
- Operating independently across a number of projects while contributing to the wider Health & Safety function.
The Person
We are looking for someone with 2–4 years' relevant Health & Safety experience, ideally gained within a civil engineering or main contractor environment.
You will have:
- 2–4 years' experience in a Health & Safety role.
- Previous experience working within civil engineering or for a main contractor.
- The confidence and experience to operate independently on site.
- A practical, proactive and solutions-focused approach to Health & Safety.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with teams at all levels.
- A good understanding of Health & Safety legislation and best practice within the construction industry.
- Flexibility to travel between sites across the Leinster region.
- A full Irish driving licence.
- A valid work permit and legal entitlement to work in Ireland.
