Health & Safety Advisor – South Dublin - Hotel Construction Projects

The Role

We are currently seeking an experienced and proactive Health & Safety Advisor to join the project team for the construction of two hotel developments in South Dublin.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting and promoting a strong health and safety culture across the projects, ensuring that all works are carried out in accordance with current Irish health and safety legislation, company procedures and project-specific requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide professional health and safety advice and guidance to the project management and site teams.
  • Monitor site activities to ensure compliance with relevant health and safety legislation, regulations and company policies.
  • Carry out regular site inspections and safety audits, identifying hazards and recommending appropriate corrective actions.
  • Assist with the preparation, review and implementation of Risk Assessments and Method Statements.
  • Support the development and implementation of project-specific Health & Safety Plans.
  • Investigate accidents, incidents and near misses and assist with the implementation of preventative measures.
  • Monitor contractor and subcontractor compliance with health and safety requirements.
  • Deliver and assist with site inductions, toolbox talks and other safety training.
  • Maintain accurate health and safety records and documentation.
  • Liaise with site management, subcontractors, consultants and other project stakeholders on health and safety matters.
  • Promote a positive safety culture and encourage best practice throughout the project.
  • Keep up to date with changes in Irish health and safety legislation and industry best practice.
  • Support the Project Manager and Site Management Team in achieving the highest possible standards of health and safety.

Requirements

  • Minimum Level 7 qualification in Health & Safety, Occupational Health & Safety, Construction Health & Safety or a related discipline.
  • Previous experience working in a construction environment is essential.
  • Previous experience within hotel, commercial, pharmaceutical or similar projects would be an advantage.
  • Strong knowledge of Irish Health & Safety legislation and construction regulations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Full understanding of site safety procedures, risk assessments and method statements.
