About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Financial Controller to lead the finance function within a market-leading organisation. The successful candidate will oversee financial reporting, compliance, budgeting, cash-flow management, and performance analysis while partnering closely with senior leadership to support strategic decision-making and continuous improvement initiatives across the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the finance function and manage the preparation of monthly management accounts, annual financial statements, and audit processes.
  • Oversee statutory compliance, payroll, tax filings, and regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Manage cash flow forecasting and provide financial analysis to support business performance and profitability.
  • Produce KPI reports and deliver meaningful insights to senior management and key stakeholders.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across finance processes and systems.
  • Support and mentor finance team members while fostering a collaborative working environment.
  • Liaise with wider business operations and interpret financial performance metrics for management review.

Requirements

  • Fully qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CPA) with 5+ years’ post-qualification experience.
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge with experience in financial reporting and statutory compliance.
  • Advanced Excel and financial systems experience with strong analytical capabilities.
  • Proven leadership and people management skills with the ability to mentor and support teams.
  • Commercially focused with strong business insight and a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Previous experience within the motor, automotive, or distribution sector would be advantageous.
