The Work

As the Financial Accountant, you will take on a key office-based role that supports both the accounting and manufacturing sides of the business. You will provide critical financial insight, help drive cost efficiency and ensure accurate reporting to support operational and strategic decision-making.

  • Manage daily bank reconciliations and associated finance administration activities.
  • Prepare, analyse and present financial reports to support business decisions and performance reviews.
  • Oversee production costing, cost analysis and productivity reporting to improve cost control.
  • Carry out variance analysis and inventory reconciliations to maintain accurate stock records.
  • Support month-end close processes, including preparation of management accounts.
  • Work closely with production and operations teams to enhance stock accuracy and cost management.
  • Prepare budgets and forecasts on a regular basis, contributing to financial planning.
  • Provide clear financial insight and commentary to support both financial and operational performance.

The Person

The ideal candidate is a detail-focused and commercially aware finance professional who enjoys collaborating with both finance and operational teams in a manufacturing environment.

  • Degree or qualification in Accounting, Finance, Business or a related discipline.
  • Experience working as a Management Accountant, Cost Accountant, Assistant Accountant or in a similar finance role.
  • Strong Excel skills with advanced capability for data analysis and reporting.
  • Experience within manufacturing or a stock-intensive environment is advantageous.
  • Background in production costing, financial analysis or inventory management would be beneficial.
  • Familiarity with ERP and accounting systems is desirable.
  • Ability to build effective working relationships with both finance colleagues and operational teams.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving and communication skills, with a proactive approach to process improvement.
  • Comfortable working independently, managing deadlines and adapting to evolving business needs.
