An established organisation is seeking an experienced Financial Controller to join its Senior Management team in Roscommon. This is a broad finance leadership role combining day-to-day financial ownership with input into the short- and long-term direction of the business. You will lead the finance function, strengthen financial controls and provide financial insight to support business decisions.

About Your New Job

As Financial Controller, you will:

• Lead the overall financial management and reporting of the business.
• Manage monthly and annual financial statements across ROI and NI operations.
• Lead the annual audit process and liaise with external auditors.
• Oversee VAT returns and ensure appropriate financial controls are maintained.
• Manage financial processes relating to vehicle purchases, leasing and buybacks.
• Oversee accurate and timely weekly payroll across ROI and NI.
• Lead and develop an accounting team of five.
• Drive process improvements and strengthen accounting policies and internal controls.
• Contribute financial insight to business planning and strategy as Financial Controller.

What You Need

• Qualified accountant – ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent.
• Minimum five years’ experience in a similar financial management or Financial Controller role.
• Strong technical accounting and financial reporting experience.
• Strong knowledge of accounting standards and financial controls.
• Previous people-management experience.
• Strong analytical and organisational skills.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively with senior management.
