About Your New Job as an External Sales Engineer
- As an External Sales Engineer, you will grow and support the customer base across the North and West of the republic of Ireland through direct engagement and technical problem-solving.
- You will spend significant time on the road - visiting sites, understanding client challenges, and recommending practical solutions tailored to industries such as water/wastewater and construction.
- You will be responsible for identifying and developing new business opportunities, following up on enquiries, and converting them into sales.
- You will manage existing client accounts through regular calls, site visits, and proactive communication, overseeing the complete sales cycle from enquiry to project completion.
- You will collaborate closely with internal sales and technical teams to deliver integrated projects, provide product demonstrations, and offer expert guidance at site meetings and industry events.
- You will maintain accurate CRM records and straightforward sales forecasts, while staying alert to competitor activity and market trends.
What Skills You Need to be the External Sales Engineer
- Proven experience in technical sales within sectors such as water, industrial process, automation, or instrumentation.
- Background in mechanical, electrical, or process instrumentation/automation products.
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills; ability to translate customer requirements into effective solutions.
- Confident communicator with engineers, buyers, and project teams.
- Experience using CRM tools and handling basic sales reporting.
- Willingness to travel throughout the North and West of Ireland.
- Full, clean driver’s license and legal right to work in Ireland.
