About Your New Job

  • Health & Safety:

    • Own and maintain the site Safety Management System.
    • Develop and implement health and safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
    • Conduct risk assessments and implement controls to mitigate workplace hazards.
    • Organize and provide training to employees on health and safety practices and procedures, through tool-box talks or safety communications.
    • Investigate accidents and incidents, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Regulatory Compliance:

    • Stay up to date on changes to environmental, sustainability, and health and safety regulations.
    • Manage and organize the site EHS Employee Training matrix, including Manual Handling, Chemical Awareness, and Forklift Certification.
    • Ensure compliance with Irish health, safety, and environmental legislation, including requirements of the Health and Safety Authority (HSA) and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
  • Environmental & Sustainability Compliance:

    • Monitor and ensure compliance with all environmental health & safety regulations.
    • Develop and implement programs to minimize environmental impact, including waste reduction & pollution prevention.
    • Conduct environmental audits and inspections to identify areas for improvement and ensure regulatory compliance.
    • Identify opportunities for energy efficiency, renewable energy, and other sustainable practices.

What Skills You Need

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in environmental, sustainability, and health and safety roles, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret data and metrics related to EHS performance.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Experience with ISO 14001 management systems is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive change and implement sustainable practices within an organization.
