About Your New Job
- As the EHS Manager, you will lead all aspects of health, safety, and environmental initiatives across the group’s main production facility and wider network, reporting to the General Manager.
- You will directly manage a team of 4 EHS specialists and take ownership of the compliance, improvement and cultural change agenda.
- Your responsibilities:
- Design and execute the companywide health, safety, and environment (HSE) strategy, aligned to continuous improvement.
- Lead regulatory compliance audits and EHS action plans for all group sites.
- Oversee ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems, including monitoring and reducing environmental impacts, as well as chemical and wastewater management.
- Ensure robust risk management, incident/accident reporting, and implementation of preventative actions.
- Spearhead occupational health and workplace wellbeing initiatives, ensuring full regulatory compliance and employee support.
- Manage emergency response planning and delivery, and ensure all contractor and visitor safety processes are implemented effectively.
- Represent the group during audits by regulatory authorities, customers, insurers, and utilities.
- Develop and deliver EHS training and communications programmes for all sites.
- Lead and support company sustainability and ESG reporting.
- Provide comprehensive EHS performance reporting to the Board and Senior Management.
What Skills You Need
- At least 8 years' EHS experience in a manufacturing setting (e.g. pharma, food, medical device, chemical, automotive).
- Minimum 4-5 years’ experience in a regulated (GMP or similar) manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated success managing and developing HSE teams.
- Recognised Level 8 or above qualification in Health & Safety, Environmental Science or related discipline (essential).
- Occupational Health & Safety qualification is highly advantageous.
- Strong hands-on knowledge of ISO 14001, chemical safety, and Irish/EU regulatory standards.
- Ability to drive and embed safety cultural change in a diverse organisation.
- Advanced analytical, problem-solving, and influencing skills.
- Proven track record in environmental licensing and effluent/wastewater management is essential.
- Experienced project manager; collaborative and able to work independently.
