Job Summary
Our client is an established civil engineering and utilities company with extensive experience delivering essential infrastructure projects across Ireland. With a strong track record in the water, wastewater and wider utilities sectors, they work across the full project lifecycle, from initial tender and design through to construction and completion.
They are now seeking a Design Engineer to support the delivery of water and wastewater projects. This role would suit a Civil Engineer or Design Engineer with 2+ years' experience who is looking to develop their career within a project-focused environment.
The successful candidate will play a key role in coordinating design inputs, managing consultant deliverables, liaising with clients and supporting internal teams throughout the various stages of project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Review RFP documentation and coordinate pricing from consultants and subcontractors.
- Develop design proposals, programmes and methodologies for tender submissions.
- Organise and manage site surveys during project mobilisation.
- Coordinate design deliverables and ensure they are progressed in line with project requirements.
- Liaise with internal teams, consultants and designers to ensure timely delivery and constructability.
- Support planning, permitting and CPO processes as required.
- Manage and submit design change orders and project progress updates.
- Present developed designs at key project milestones.
- Finalise design documentation for construction.
- Provide ongoing design coordination and technical support throughout the construction phase.
- Liaise with clients and other project stakeholders to ensure effective communication and delivery.
- Support the wider project team in delivering projects safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards.
Requirements
- 2+ years' experience in a design coordination, civil engineering or related role.
- Experience or exposure to utility infrastructure projects.
- Experience working on water and/or wastewater projects is highly desirable.
- Strong organisational and project coordination skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders and deliverables effectively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Experience using AutoCAD, Civil 3D and/or GIS.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary project team.
- Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
