About Your New Job
As the Cost and Financial Accountant, you will:
- Deliver key cost accounting activities; analyse actual vs. standard cost variances and investigate with Operations to resolve any issues.
- Prepare and review inventory valuations, manage annual inventory counts, and partner with the supply chain team to maintain accurate cycle counts.
- Own the month-end close process, preparing the monthly Management Accounts pack and providing clear executive performance summaries.
- Provide key commercial insights through analysing gross margins by product, customer, and contract, partnering cross-functionally to support decisions and drive cost reductions.
- Lead the annual budgeting process, deliver rolling forecasts, and contribute to financial strategy and continuous improvement.
- Drive enhancements in ERP system utilisation, improve data flows, manage fixed asset registers, and support both internal and external audits.
What Skills You Need
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent)
- Solid experience in a manufacturing environment and in cost/management accounting
- Proficiency with ERP systems, advanced Excel skills, and strong Microsoft Office abilities
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively partner with non-finance stakeholders
- High level of independence, ownership, and commercial awareness
