About Your New Job
As the Commercial Manager, you will act as the daily commercial engine of the business, owning relationships with veterinary customers in the equine sector and managing the distributor network at senior level.
You will hire, train, and lead a small, focused inside sales team (US and Europe) to drive equine diagnostics sales, setting escalation processes and delivering results as the Commercial Manager.
You will resolve escalated technical support issues, ensuring veterinary customers receive competent, empathetic service—particularly those in equine medicine.
You will equip, motivate, and manage distributor sales reps to ensure effective channel performance, reporting consolidated equine sales to the CEO and facilitating sensitive commercial discussions while preserving strong partnerships.
As the Commercial Manager, you will focus on strategic relationships and leadership in the equine sector, while operational logistics (stock, expiry tracking, orders) are supported by an existing supply chain manager.
What Skills You Need
- Clinical or veterinary customer-facing background (With small equine commercial experience).
- Exceptional interpersonal judgement and composure—able to manage tough partner situations (with equine fluency) while strengthening relationships.
- Proven people-leadership skills or strong appetite to hire, train, and manage a small, targeted team as a Commercial Manager.
- Confident with smartphone apps and connected devices; able to provide technical support and training as the escalation point for equine products.
- Willing and able to work a shifted day (3pm Irish time start) to cover US equine customers.
- Self-directed and reliable in a remote environment, with openness to periodic travel to Ireland and equine industry events (e.g., AAEP, December).
Additional advantages (not essential):
- Previous channel/distributor/partner management expertise, ideally in the equine sector.
- Experience in the equine veterinary sector.
- Additional European languages.
