Our client is an established and growing construction contractor with a strong pipeline of work across Ireland. They are looking for an experienced Commercial Manager to join their team in a senior position.
About Your New Job / Role
As Commercial Manager, you will have overall responsibility for the commercial management of construction projects from pre-construction through to completion.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing project budgets, forecasts, cash flow and cost reporting.
- Managing subcontractor procurement and packages.
- Reviewing and negotiating contracts and subcontractor agreements.
- Managing variations, valuations, payment applications and final accounts.
- Identifying commercial risks and opportunities.
- Preparing monthly cost/value reports.
- Working closely with Project Managers, Contracts Managers and site teams.
- Supporting senior management with commercial strategy.
- Managing and mentoring junior commercial staff.
What You Will Need
- Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics or related discipline.
- 7+ years' construction experience.
- Strong main contractor background.
- Proven experience in commercial management of construction projects.
- Strong knowledge of construction contracts.
- Experience with procurement, subcontractor management, valuations, variations, forecasting and final accounts.
- Excellent commercial, negotiation and communication skills.
