About Your New Job
- Program, set up, and operate advanced CNC machines (including Swiss-type sliding head lathes) to manufacture precision medical and orthopedic components.
- Optimise CNC programs and processes, maintaining efficiency and uncompromising quality standards.
- Collaborate closely with engineering teams on process development and continuous improvement for new, complex components.
- Work with advanced materials including titanium and medical-grade alloys using state-of-the-art equipment.
- Take ownership of projects—from prototypes to batch production—ensuring deadlines and client expectations are met.
- Contribute your expertise to manufacturing innovation while maintaining high workshop and equipment standards.
What Skills You Need
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a CNC Programmer role, preferably in the medical device or precision engineering sectors.
- Hands-on expertise with Swiss-type sliding head machines (Citizen, Star, Tornos or similar).
- Demonstrable experience programming multi-axis CNC machines (experience in 5-axis, mill-turn, or sliding head highly advantageous).
- Strong ability to interpret engineering drawings, select appropriate materials, and deliver production-process improvements.
- Ability to take a drawing and create a CNC program from scratch
Proficiency in Hypermill (certified), Mastercam, Esprit Edge, SolidWorks, Inventor, Fusion360.
