CAD / BIM Design Technician

Due to continued growth, our client is seeking a CAD / BIM Design Technician to join their design team. Role Overview
The successful candidate will be responsible for producing accurate technical drawings, CAD designs and BIM models to support the delivery of specialist construction projects.
Working within a collaborative design team, the role will involve interpreting client requirements, architectural drawings and project specifications to develop practical, buildable solutions. The successful candidate will work closely with internal teams, project managers, suppliers and external stakeholders to ensure designs are coordinated and delivered effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce detailed 2D AutoCAD drawings, BIM models, schedules and technical documentation.
- Interpret architectural drawings, specifications and client requirements.
- Develop practical design solutions suitable for manufacture, installation and construction.
- Support the design process from initial concept through to project completion.
- Assist with design coordination, technical queries and drawing revisions.
- Liaise with internal teams, clients, suppliers and project stakeholders to ensure accurate project delivery.
- Provide technical support during tender and pre-construction stages.
- Ensure designs comply with relevant standards, regulations and project requirements.
- Support continuous improvement of design processes and BIM capabilities.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will have:
- 2 years+ experience within a CAD, BIM or technical design environment within Ireland/UK required
- Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD.
- Experience with Revit/BIM software would be required.
- Background within construction, manufacturing, engineering, architectural design or a related technical environment.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and translate design concepts into practical solutions.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
This role would suit someone from a background such as CAD Technician, BIM Technician, Architectural Technician, Design Technician, Technical Designer or a similar position looking to progress their career within a specialist design and construction environment. Irish/UK experience will be needed to be considered for this role.
