About Your New Job

  • As an Audit & Accounts Senior, you will lead and deliver external audit engagements, manage audit fieldwork from planning to final sign-off, and handle statutory accounts preparation and file review under FRS 102/102A for non-audit clients.
  • You will manage a portfolio of regional clients, serving as a key contact for local business owners, financial controllers, and directors in Athlone and across Co. Westmeath.
  • You will support tax compliance requirements including Corporation Tax, Income Tax, VAT, PAYE/PRSI and liaise with Revenue as part of audit and accounts assignments.
  • You will supervise junior team members and ACA/ACCA trainees, reviewing work, providing training, and facilitating their progress toward qualification.
  • You will identify and report on internal control and process improvements, delivering practical business advice to SMEs and local companies.
  • You will ensure efficient file management, hitting deadlines, budgets, and quality/accountancy standards set by the practice.

What Skills You Need

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CPA or equivalent) with valid permission to work in Ireland.
  • 2–3+ years’ practice experience in Irish audit and accounts, including direct client-facing engagement and hands-on file management.
  • Advanced knowledge of Irish GAAP (FRS 102/102A), ISAs (Ireland), and Companies Act requirements.
  • Proficient in audit and accounts software (e.g., CaseWare, Relate, BrightPay, Surf Accounts, Xero) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent communication, time management, and mentoring skills, with a client-focused approach and local business insight.
