About Your New Job

As the Audit Manager, you will:

  • Lead audit engagements for a diverse portfolio of clients, ensuring professional standards and regulatory requirements are met.
  • Deliver exceptional client service, managing expectations and communicating effectively with decision-makers in SMEs and corporates.
  • Oversee audit file reviews, maintain audit quality, and proactively manage audit risk in line with industry best practices.
  • Track and manage WIP (work in progress) monthly and quarterly, taking ownership of billing and commercial targets for your portfolio.
  • Drive new business development—build relationships via Chamber and industry networking events to grow the client base.
  • Attract, mentor, and retain top audit talent; support staff progression and create a great team culture.
  • Partner with tax and other advisory departments to deliver integrated solutions; ensure accurate billing and fee management across services.
  • Keep your technical edge sharp with regular CPD participation and champion audit technical standards across the team.

What Skills You Need

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CPA or equivalent) with significant audit experience in an accountancy practice firm.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills; proven ability to motivate and develop high-performing audit teams.
  • Background in managing a varied client portfolio, with hands-on experience of risk, compliance, and audit quality assurance.
  • Confidence with practice management systems, WIP, billing, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Commitment to CPD and staying up-to-date with the latest audit and compliance regulations.
