About Your New Role
As an Assistant Programme Manager, you will join a multidisciplinary team of development professionals to support the delivery of large-scale development and regeneration projects from initiation through to completion or exit. Reporting to a Senior Programme Manager or Programme Lead, you will coordinate multiple work streams in line with project objectives and agreed programmes.
This role offers hands-on exposure to landmark development projects and provides a strong platform to build a career in programme and development management. The organisation is committed to supporting professional development through mentorship and continuous professional development (CPD).
Key duties and responsibilities include:
Assisting in the assessment of potential large-scale projects for progression, working with internal teams such as Property, Planning, Cost, Delivery, Legal, and Advisory
Preparing development briefs outlining project scope, deliverables, programme, budgets, and consultant scopes of service
Supporting feasibility studies and viability assessments by identifying development opportunities and constraints
Contributing to development strategies and associated investment cases, including preparation of Board and Committee approval documentation
Supporting the appointment and management of legal agreements, consultant appointments, and contracts
Coordinating inputs across internal and external project teams and stakeholders to ensure effective delivery of project workstreams
Appointing and managing professional consultants and design teams from a technical, programme, and budgetary perspective
Managing project documentation including contracts, reports, programmes, budgets, registers, and trackers
Building and maintaining strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
What You Will Need
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
A recognised technical or degree-level qualification in a related discipline, with a commitment to ongoing professional development
At least 2 years’ relevant post-qualification experience
Strong project or development management skills, with experience in planning processes and enabling or infrastructure projects advantageous
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a structured project environment
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience preparing and presenting reports
Strong stakeholder and relationship management skills, including the ability to negotiate while maintaining positive relationships
Understanding of the planning system, construction principles, build ability, and value engineering advantageous
