Job Description
We are currently seeking a reliable and hardworking Yard Operative to join our client's team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining an organised and safe yard, handling materials, loading and unloading deliveries, and operating a forklift as required.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys practical work, takes pride in maintaining a tidy working environment, and can work effectively as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate a forklift safely to move, load and unload materials.
- Load and unload incoming and outgoing deliveries.
- Organise and maintain stock and materials within the yard.
- Assist with the preparation of orders and materials for dispatch.
- Carry out general yard duties, including keeping the work area clean and tidy.
- Check deliveries and materials for accuracy and visible damage.
- Follow all health and safety procedures and site regulations.
- Assist warehouse and operations staff when required.
Requirements
- A valid forklift licence is essential.
- Previous experience in a yard, warehouse or similar hands-on environment is desirable.
- Good awareness of health and safety practices.
- Ability to carry out manual handling duties.
- Reliable, punctual and willing to work as part of a team.
- Good organisational skills and a practical, hands-on approach.
