About Your New Job
As a Warehouse Operative/Driver, you will help ensure that products are received, stored and delivered safely and efficiently. Working closely with the Warehouse Assistant Manager and Warehouse Manager, your responsibilities will include:
- Receiving incoming materials, checking deliveries against supplier purchase orders and updating the inventory management system.
- Storing and allocating materials correctly, ensuring stock is rotated according to expiry dates.
- Picking, packing and dispatching customer orders while preventing damage and meeting customer requirements.
- Carrying out regular stock counts and maintaining accurate inventory records.
- Serving customers at the trade counter, including processing credit card transactions and helping to develop positive customer relationships.
- Transporting and delivering goods to local customers using company vehicles.
- Maintaining a clean, tidy and safe warehouse, storage yard and trade counter.
- Using forklifts and other mobile equipment safely, while following all manual handling and health and safety procedures.
This is a physically demanding role involving regular manual handling, the lifting of heavy objects, the use of mobile plant and working in an outdoor storage area.
What Skills You Need
- At least two years’ experience working in a warehouse or similar environment.
- A current and valid forklift licence or qualification.
- A full, clean driving licence, including Group B, held for a minimum of two years.
- Knowledge of modern warehouse practices and stock control methods.
- The physical ability to carry out manual handling and lift heavy objects safely.
- A strong commitment to health and safety procedures.
- Good communication skills and a customer-focused approach.
- A reliable, level-headed and team-oriented attitude.
A Manual Handling Certificate would be advantageous.
