About Your New Job
- As the Warehouse Controller, you will independently manage the daily operation of a Frozen Cold Store (-18°C) and an Ambient Packaging Warehouse.
- Receive, inspect, store, and issue packaging materials, ingredients, and finished goods, ensuring that food safety and inventory accuracy are maintained at all times.
- Maintain accurate stock records using the company’s inventory management system, carry out routine stock counts and investigate discrepancies.
- Prepare materials for production and customer dispatch, ensure proper stock rotation (FIFO/FEFO), and report any shortages or issues to management.
- Operate forklifts and warehouse equipment safely, maintain housekeeping and compliance with food safety, hygiene, and health & safety procedures, and support warehouse audits.
- Liaise with Production, Purchasing, Quality, and Logistics teams to ensure efficient operations and contribute ideas for continuous improvement.
What Skills You Need
- Previous warehouse experience, ideally in the food manufacturing or distribution sector.
- Experience working in cold store and/or ambient warehouse environments.
- Valid forklift licence.
- Good understanding of stock control and inventory management processes.
- Ability to work independently, excellent organisational skills, and strong attention to detail.
- Good IT skills and experience with stock management systems.
- Commitment to food safety and safe working practices.
- (Desirable) Experience in HACCP or BRCGS-certified environments; knowledge of ERP or warehouse management systems.
